Zhujiang Brewery has 9 high-tech enterprises, accounting for 60% of its industrial enterprises. It has a state-certified enterprise technology center, a postdoctoral research station, a state-authorized laboratory, and 17 provincial and municipal scientific research platforms. It strengthens its international cooperation in S&T and industry-university-research cooperation with Technische Universität München and China’s National Research Institute of Food and Fermentaion Industries throught jointly establishment of the Zhujiang Beer International Technology research center and the base of China Food Biotechnology Research Headquarters.

Zhujiang Brewery’s innovation investment accounts for nearly 4% of the annual sales revenue, showing its great emphasis on technological innovation. More than 20 core technologies, such as beer rapid fermentation technology, key technology for quality control of draft beer, and key technology for in-bottle secondary fermentation of white beer, have filled in domestic gaps and made outstanding contributions to the innovation and development of beer industry. It has won 42 national, provincial and municipal science and technology awards, 11 of which are the first awards.

By October, 2020, Zhujiang Brewery owns 350 intellectual property rights, including 182 valid patents, 33 of which are invention patents. It boasts 12 copyrights of works, 8 of which belong to computer softwares. It has registered 117 trademarks, 39 of which were registered overseas. Adhering to category innovation, it took the lead in developing draft beer and white beer in China, becoming the first demonstration production base of draft beer in China. It has developed and reserved over 30 new products including American IPA, Germany-style wheat beer, among which Zhujiang draft beer 1997, Supra American IPA, Supra cider and other products won over 20 awards in Belgium Brussels Beer Challenge Competition and other domestic and foreign contests .
